  • Back and neck pain is reported in nearly 60% of cyclists
  • Hand, wrist, shoulder, ankle are commonly reported sites of pain and stiffness
  • Head injuries are the most common fatal injuries encountered by cyclists
  • Abnormal handlebar/ seat shape and position can lead to abdominal / groin injuries
  • Ulnar neuropathy with numbness and paresthesia can occur due to faulty elbow positioning
  • Saddle related injuriesare often under reported/ neglected and these include
    1. Chafing
    2. Perineal folliculitis
    3. Furuncles
    4. Perineal nodules
    5. Pudendal neuropathy
    6. Male impotence
    7. Traumatic urethritis
